Bike-in for Bees at HI Sacramento

Come see what all the buzz is about and join the folks at HI Sacramento for an extra special edition of the hostel’s bike-in movie series. This month, you’ll not only get to see an illuminating documentary about the current plight of bees, but you’ll get to help the hostel help the pollinators as well. "Vanishing of the Bees" follows two commercial beekeepers as they try examine the cause behind the alarming disappearance of honeybees and the impact this has on the earth and on humans. The film was shot across the U.S., in Europe, Australia and Asia as the beekeepers, scientists and farmers puzzle over the crisis.

With this in mind, HI Sacramento, together with the beekeepers at Bee Love Sacramento, is hoping to raise awareness of this rather scary issue, while also raising funds to be one of the only hostels in the United States with an urban beehive. Donations will be accepted, but are not required, to help the hostel achieve this goal.

So, bring your bikes and your buddies for a bit of education, a bit of mingling with locals and travelers, and a chance to save the bees!

The movie starts at 8:00 p.m.
