Bike Travel 101 Workshop Coming Soon to HI Monterey
In honor of National Bike Month, Hostelling International USA is connecting bicycle adventurers this May. Join us on Monday, May 18th at the HI Monterey Hostel for Bike Travel 101 - an event bringing together cyclists of all stripes to share ideas, skills, and stories in 10 minutes or less.
Enamored by the brief simplicity of TED Talks, we are gathering a series of short and intriguing bicycle adventure presentations. Whether you’re a seasoned bicycle tourist, casual commuter, or simply bike-curious, Bike Travel 101 is sure to have something that will inspire you! Join us for mingling and refreshments at 6pm. Program will start at 6:45pm. Admission is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
Lineup:
- Dominic of HIUSA will be sharing a story of cycling and hostelling down the California Coast, from the SF Bay Area to Santa Cruz
- Michael of Green Pedal Courier will be bringing his patented bike blender by the hostel for a demo - guaranteed to get you thinking about bikes beyond transportation
We are looking for more speakers to share their cycling stories, tips and skills! If you are interested in putting together a 10-minute presentation about your cycling adventures, contact dominic.lucchesi@hiusa.org today! Here are some ideas for presentations:
- Photos and stories of a favorite bike trip (A/V equipment will be provided)
- Cycing gear presentations: i.e. how to pack for a bike tour, how to fix a flat, how to cook on the road, etc
- Tips on local bike routes and trails
