Free shuttle to the Marin Headlands Hostel runs through October 31

We’re excited to announce that this fall we’re offering a new shuttle service between the Marin Headlands Hostel and our three San Francisco hostels!

From September 23 – October 31, 2011, a free shuttle will run from San Francisco to the Marin Headlands and back again, mornings and evenings, every day except Sunday. (On Sundays, public transportation is available.)

For years, the Marin Headlands Hostel has been difficult to reach without a car — the only options were to bike or hike in, or take a ferry from San Francisco to Sausalito and then a taxi to the hostel. MUNI buses run from San Francisco to the hostel, but only on Sundays and holidays.

Now, during this pilot initiative, guests can travel between San Francisco and the Marin Headlands for free! This means that hostellers staying in San Francisco can add an easy side trip, and spend a few relaxing days in a coastal National Park.

Guests can also head straight to the Marin Headlands, by taking BART, Greyhound, or Amtrak to San Francisco, and catching the shuttle from the San Francisco Downtown Hostel at Union Square. While staying in the Headlands, you can take the morning shuttle into San Francisco, spend the day sightseeing, and return on the evening shuttle, making the Marin Headlands Hostel a convenient alternative base for visiting San Francisco.
