Looking for a last-minute getaway for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend? We've still got space available at our Marin Headlands Hostel, and we're offering free shuttle service between the hostel and San Francisco.

Many people remember the first time they hugged a giant redwood, encountered a banana slug, or glimpsed the Pacific Ocean. For some, these are travel memories -- but for a lot of Californians, those first-time experiences happen through outdoor education.

We're happy to announce that Point Reyes Hostel guests now have all-day access. Previously, due to limited staffing, the hostel closed its doors from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. -- but no more!

Our first Travel Tavern event was a big success! We'd like to thank the 150+ people who turned out, our co-presenters at Tripping and Meet, Plan, Go!, and especially our eight storytellers who awed and inspired the audience with their stories from the road.

On March 20, meet up at Public Works in the Mission for our very first Travel Tavern! For our inaugural event, we're bringing you travel-sized tales, written and performed by local storytellers, in honor of World Storytelling Day. 

We're thrilled to announce the opening of a new "green" facility at the Point Reyes Hostel! Built to adhere to LEED Silver standards, the new building includes four private family rooms (each sleeping up to five people, in one double bed and three bunk beds), as well as a fully equipped guest kitchen, guest lounge and dining area, and a sundeck.

This winter, treat yourself to a weeknight coastal getaway and get three nights for the price of two! Both Northern California lighthouse hostels -- Point Montara and Pigeon Point -- are offering the third night free for stays falling on Sunday - Thursday nights, excluding holidays. This offer applies to both private rooms and dorm beds, so take your pick!

We're happy to announce that the Marin Headlands Hostel now offers guests free, high-speed wireless internet access at various points throughout the hostel. The free WiFi is available 24/7 and is fully compatible with laptops and other wireless devices. The hostel also continues to offer internet kiosks which can be rented by the minute.
