Spaulding Wooden Boat Center Open House

The Spaulding Wooden Boat Center is one of the last remaining wooden boatyards on the West Coast. Myron Spaulding--concert violinist, sailor, sailboat racer, yacht designer and builder, and a legend on San Francisco Bay--built the center on the Sausalito waterfront in 1951.
The Spaulding Center will offer free rides on Dixie with a docent from the Sausalito Historical Society on board. If you love boats, the sea, or maritime history, then come and tour a traditional working boatyard, follow the restoration of the historic boat Freda, enjoy a delicious BBQ, and visit both the Youth Boatbuilding Program, and the Arques School of Traditional Boatbuilding.
