On Saturday, September 8, Point Reyes National Seashore will commemorate its 50th anniversary at the Bear Valley picnic area. There will be a brief presentation with remarks from the regional director of the Pacific West Region for the National Park Service as well as the park's superintendent. Following these remarks, park officials and community participants will plant a grove of coast live oaks to mark the 50th anniversary and celebrate this momentous milestone. All in attendance are welcomed to partake in the tree planting. Light refreshments will also be served.
