Where

Point Reyes Lighthouse Visitor Center

Experience the Point Reyes Lighthouse as many keepers have over the years, watching as the lighthouse's beacon shines over the sea.

This popular ranger-led tour is available Thursdays to Mondays, from mid-April through December. Start times vary depending on sunset.

If You Go

Stay at the Point Reyes Hostel, the only lodging within the park.

Please Note

Wear very warm clothes and bring a flashlight. High winds will result in program cancellation. The lighthouse will close early, at 2:00 pm, Thanksgiving day and Dec. 24.

Three times a week, local farmers bring the goods to San Francisco's Ferry Building. Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays year 'round, pick up fresh fruits, veggies, breads, cheeses, honeys, and much more at this outdoor market in front of downtown's century-old ferry terminal.

Tour is free, bike rental is $18

Join fellow hostellers on a tour of the City by the Bay on two wheels! Visit the Ferry Building, see the Bay Bridge, check out Pier 39 and the Palace of Fine Arts, then ride across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito for lunch before riding the ferry back to SF.

While the tour is free, guests are responsible for their own bike rental ($18), lunch, and ferry fare.

The Old Princeton Landing, Princeton-by-the-Sea

$5 tournament buy-in

Open 365 days a year, The Old Princeton Landing is Princeton-by-the-Sea's nightspot for live music, dancing, and pool. Artists of all stripes -- from rock-a-billy bands to hip-hop artists -- take to the stage on Friday and Saturday nights, often with a minimal cover change.

On Tuesday nights, head down to the Landing, pony up $5, and battle the locals for cash and bragging rights in the weekly pool tournament. Sign-up is at 7 p.m., the tournament starts at 7:30.
