The Point Bonita Lighthouse is one of the Bay Area’s best kept secrets sitting pretty on a scenic overlook near Battery Wallace in the Marin Headlands. Every Saturday, Sunday and Monday, visitors can meet docents along the lighthouse trail for a guided tour of the beautiful and historic setting, used as a point to guide ships into the Golden Gate through the perilous waters of the Pacific. The half-mile trail goes through a tunnel and over a bridge to get to the lighthouse, and along the way, docents will share stories of what life was like manning this important station.

Join fellow hostellers on a tour of the City by the Bay on two wheels! Visit the Ferry Building, see the Bay Bridge, check out Pier 39 and the Palace of Fine Arts, then ride across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito for lunch before riding the ferry back to SF.

This activity is open to guests staying at all three HI San Francisco hostels!

Please Note

While the tour is free, guests are responsible for their own bike rental ($18), lunch, and ferry fare.

The Half Moon Bay Brewing Company is a casual oceanfront restaurant and brewpub in Half Moon Bay, dedicated to serving up great food and beer in a community space loved by locals and travelers alike.

Every Tuesday, Geeks Who Drink host their popular pub quizzes at the laidback eatery, with excellent prizes up for grabs for the winning teams. The trivia night takes place from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and entry is free.
