Meet at the lobby at HI SF Downtown Hostel

Cost

Put on your drinking shoes, grab your ID (gotta be 21!), and join Ellysa and Izar for our weekly pub crawl. Sip some brew (or a cosmo? tequila?) at five of the best bars along Polk Street, near our HI San Francisco City Center and Downtown hostels. Meet a bunch of other travelers and enjoy a night out in SF!

The crawl starts at 8:00 p.m. and guests are responsible for paying for their own drinks.

Though it's only a few blocks away from our Downtown Hostel, Chinatown is another world unto itself, bustling with shops and buzzing with people. Explore hidden alleyways, sip various Chinese teas, see mysterious historic temples, and visit the famous San Francisco Fortune Cookie Factory.

The Point Bonita Lighthouse is one of the Bay Area’s best kept secrets sitting pretty on a scenic overlook near Battery Wallace in the Marin Headlands. Every Saturday, Sunday and Monday, visitors can meet docents along the lighthouse trail for a guided tour of the beautiful and historic setting, used as a point to guide ships into the Golden Gate through the perilous waters of the Pacific. The half-mile trail goes through a tunnel and over a bridge to get to the lighthouse, and along the way, docents will share stories of what life was like manning this important station.

Tour is free, bike rental is $18

Join fellow hostellers on a tour of the City by the Bay on two wheels! Visit the Ferry Building, see the Bay Bridge, check out Pier 39 and the Palace of Fine Arts, then ride across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito for lunch before riding the ferry back to SF.

This activity is open to guests staying at all three HI San Francisco hostels!
